Kew Gardens is located on Richmond, TW9 3AB, London, and has 4 gates to access to:

• Victoria Gate (TW9 3JR)
• Lion Gate (TW9 2DF)
• Elizabeth Gate (TW9 3AE)
• Brentford Gate (TW9 3AF)

By Bike:

There are bicycle racks at all four gates. At Elizabeth Gate and Victoria Gate, the racks are inside the gates behind the booths.

Bicycles, tricycles, roller skates, skateboards, and scooters are not allowed into the Gardens.

By Bus:

Route 65 stops close to Lion Gate, Elizabeth Gate and Victoria Gate.

Route 110 stops near Kew Gardens station and Elizabeth Gate.

Routes 237 and 267 stop at Kew Bridge station.

By Train:

Kew Bridge station is 800m from Elizabeth Gate, via Kew Bridge. South West Trains run services from Waterloo, via Vauxhall and Clapham Junction. There is no level access at Kew Bridge.

Richmond station has lift and level access. Take 65 bus (in the direction of Ealing Broadway) to Lion or Victoria Gate.

By Metro:

Kew Gardens station is 500m from Victoria Gate. It is in Zone 3 and is served by the District Line (Richmond branch) and London Overground.

By Car:

Parking at Kew is extremely limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

Kew Gardens car park (TW9 3AF) – near Brentford Gate:

Parking costs £9 per day.
No charge for motorcycles and mopeds.
Car park closes 30 minutes after the Gardens close.
Blue badge holders park for free in disabled access parking spaces or other spaces if full.

By Boat:

Thames River Boats operate a special service from Westminster Pier to Kew Pier.

The easiest entrance for visitors coming from Kew Pier is Elizabeth Gate (postcode TW9 3AB). Elizabeth Gate is a 0.2 mile walk from Kew Pier across Kew Green.

Yes, the Gardens are largely flat, with tarmac paths in most places.

Besides the accessibility map to help you plan your visit, there are also available mobility scooters to hire from Elizabeth, Brentford and Victoria Gates, which must be booked in advance.

No, only registered disability assistance dogs are allowed in the gardens.

In order to avoid disappointments, please be aware that Kew Gardens are constantly working to improve this UNESCO world heritage site, so occasionally it needs to close some features.

• The Waterlily House will be closed for the winter until April 2025.
• The Marianne North Gallery will be closed all day on 14 February, 23 and 24 April, and 13 May 2025. Last entry to the Marianne North Gallery will be at 2.30pm on 6 March, at 3.30pm on 10 and 30 April, and on 18 July 2025.
• The Shirley Sherwood Gallery will be closed from 24 March to 11 April, and on 13 May 2025. Last entry to the Shirley Sherwood Gallery will be at 3.30pm on 6 March 2025.
